LG WCD-800 cordless charger at MWC 2012 @Barcelona
Along with the bunch of other devices displayed at the MWC 2012 LG came up with their WCD-800 wireless charger at Barcelona .
The device – which works along the same lines as Palm’s Touchstone technology by eliminating the need to plug a wire in to your smartphone to juice it up – has gone on show at the Spanish expo alongside the existing WCP-700 model.
"As smartphones become the de facto medium for consuming multimedia content and communicating, it is not unusual to find oneself having to recharge a phone a couple times a day,” said Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
The designing of the phone is such that it allows for the phone being placed in the portrait or the landscape mode when charged . The facility provided makes it easy to do the video chat or watch the movie easily even when being charged .
Features of the phone include a 75.8 mm width and I has offered the double interface that was of it’s predecessor .
The double area makes the functioning better .LG has claimed that WCD-800 is a very effective wall charger .The charger works on the principle of magnetic field creation .In this the electric current is produced by the magnetic fields of electric coils packed in under the charger .
Talking on the release the company says that phone will be introduced in North-America first during the first half of the year and has not commented on it’s release in U.K.
